Meet Our Executive Team

Our team is made up of creative and intentional leaders who genuinely care about the communities we live in. We share executive responsibilities and as many jokes as possible. We are from different backgrounds, have lived throughout the world and the United States, and when not working our tails off, we all agree that we enjoy a good fried zucchini (as long as Dean or Bri are cooking). We value humility, integrity, direct communication, varying viewpoints, and listening to our communities. We believe that relationships are the conduit to sustainable solutions, creative problem solving, and community health.

Dean McDaniel

CEO

Dean has over 20 years of experience in nonprofit executive leadership in both the United States and overseas; including successfully founding and operating multiple businesses, educational institutions, and nonprofits globally.

Dean has served in leadership roles in multiple countries including China and Mongolia.  He engages community in a way that supports and assists in barrier identification and strength-based solutions while ensuring community voices are centralized. This strategic work has created colleges, warming shelters, multiple nonprofits, and other businesses that are community led. â€‹

When Dean is not working, he enjoys spending time with his beautiful family and exploring the Alaskan frontier. Dean is a collector of generators, dogs, and tiny cups. Dean is an avid world cook and insists his guests try new meals whenever possible. Come hungry and wear loose pants.

Cheri Beavs

CEO

Cheri has served as part of executive teams for two decades including long-term governmental and nonprofit executive leadership. Cheri is a member of the indigenous community and holds current Board positions with local government and schools.

Cheri has extensive experience overseeing multi-million-dollar projects and initiatives. Cheri's passion is to connect with communities by building multi-system networks and strategic complex initiatives that address socio-economic disparities in creative and sustainable ways. This practice produces research, data, and programmatic success. Cheri's projects have been adopted by state-wide communities, governmental agencies, and tribes.

In her free time, Cheri enjoys spending time with her family; despite parenting teenagers with their own lives, she occasionally and inventively convinces them into family time. You will also find Cheri voraciously reading dystopian and sci-fi genre books, writing blogs, poetry, music, (and everything else that can go on a napkin), watching anything by the great Taylor Sheridan, and playing guitar as loudly as possible.

Carrie Pearce

COO

Carrie has over 15 years of experience working in nonprofits with extensive experience in finance and business management. Carrie has successfully overseen multi-million-dollar budgets with foundations, museums, as well as overseen federal, state, county, and city funding.

Carrie is committed to community building, equitable practices, and ensuring that project development is done in tandem with the community most impacted by the work. Carrie's experience in financial management includes creating GAAP compliant procedures and systems to track and report for complex contracts.

Outside of working on the most excellent excel spreadsheets on this side of the Mississippi; Carrie enjoys spending time with animals, watching Star Trek and Murder She Wrote, warding off an incessant collection of Alaskan souvenirs from USPS, taking walks with friends around Puget Sound, and spending time with the love of her life, the one and only Bri.
